The Instrument Rating is aimed at pilots who wish to fly professionally and potentially earn a living from a flying career or for those who wish to fly in a broader range of weather conditions be it for business or pleasure. Pilots can take additional courses to enable them to apply for jobs as Flying Instructors or Airline Pilots.
The Courses
The aim of these JAA approved SE & ME-IR modular courses is to train pilots to the level of proficiency necessary to operate single and multi-engine airplanes under instrument flight rules and in instrument meteorological conditions. Upon completion of the course, the pilot will be able to apply for a Single Engine (IR-SE) or Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (IR-ME).
All instrument training is done in aircraft rather than simulators, enabling the future IR pilot to experience real IFR and IMC flight conditions, although additional training can be done in our FRASCA 101 or FNPT I BEECHCRAFT C-90 Turbo-Prop simulator if necessary.
